Why Eco Tattooing?
After over a decade tattooing, I’ve made the conscious decision to transition toward more eco-friendly practices. Eco tattooing is about being mindful of the environmental impact of single-use materials, many of which contain harmful toxins and don’t break down easily, potentially lingering in landfills for decades or even centuries. There’s no reason the materials used during a tattoo should outlast the art itself.
I’ve eliminated most plastics from my setup and replaced them with biodegradable and compostable alternatives. These materials naturally break down over time, leaving behind little to no residue. The inks I use are also 100% vegan, free of animal products, and not tested on animals.
Currently, my workspace is stocked with eco-friendly protective barriers and disposable items, along with reusable equipment that can be safely disinfected and cleaned. Reducing my environmentally harmful waste by 70%. Some items, such as certain aftercare products and needle cartridges, are still in transition, but I’m always seeking out better alternatives. As more sustainable products become available, I’ll continue refining my process to reduce waste without compromising quality or safety.
